In my profession as a hypnotist I talk to other hypnotists as well as hypnosis subjects on a very regular basis.  The thing that most surprises me is how few of the people I speak to that are involved with hypnosis are familliar with what is called a hypnosis session "pre-talk".

For a person that is going to be trying hypnosis for the first time, a well constructed "pre-talk" can make the difference between success and failure.  A well presented "pre-talk" can also make the difference between a session that is highly effective, and one that is just a bit effective.

Yet I speak to hypnosis subjects all of the time that have never had anyone tell them the information that I share in my pre-talk, and they are immediately aware of how this information can go a long way toward making a hypnosis session more effective, and more constructive.  I have found that just by sharing the information in my pre-talk I have been able to put people into deep hypnotic trance that claim they cannot be hypnotized because they have tried and failed many times in the past.

If a properly constructed hypnosis "pre-talk" can make such a difference, why aren't more professionals in the field using them with all of their subjects?

The hypnosis pre-talk is something that I feel is so helpful, and so important that I insist that my first time subjects read the information thoroughly before startign a session.
