Epiphany

Today is Epiphany. It is one of my favorite festivals because it is all about Light and manifestation and understanding the ways in which Divinity is revealed in and through our lives. The Magi find the Baby after a long journey following a star. Divinity was revealed as they encountered the one whom they had been seeking. As they present their gifts, they go away changed and empowered.

So too for us.

The thing is, we tend to feel helpless a lot. We sometimes feel like flotsam and jetsam... a cork bobbing on the river of life. Uncomfortable things happen and we rail against the Heavens. We look for a rescuer. We want to curl up in a corner. You've been there, I'm sure. I have too.

I'm not sure just where we got this idea that we are so helpless. Well, if I thought about it enough I am sure I could come up with a very good list... But the truth is, we are powerful beings! We have within us everything we need to manifest a life that is satisfying, happy and filled with every good thing. Divine Love is within each and every one of us and Creator has empowered us to enjoy it.

The law of attraction says that whatever you focus on will be brought into your experience. Jesus said where your treasure is your heart will be also. And, after healing, inspiring and manifesting what we would call miracles, Jesus looked at his friends and said, "You think this is special? You can do these and greater things!"

I believe that. Working in energy as I have for so many years, I know that when we align ourselves with Creator, with Divine Love, with Jesus -- however you name the Source of all love, then we are empowered in amazing ways.

Today, take a moment to "be" with Creator. Let Divine Love fill you with light and affirming love. And, then be empowered to share that feeling of inspiration and love in your daily routine. Make the intention to help someone, to call someone, to make the world a better place somehow.

And, take some time to reflect on your cherished dreams and goals. Fuel them with love and "yes" energy. Let them go into the Universe with love and then trust that they will come back to you in some way.

It takes some practice, but as we begin Epiphany, I know that wonderful things will be revealed. Embrace your power to change your life -- and indeed, the world!

Okay, so we've been feeling a little smug in this part of the world. It was December and there had been no real snow in the region. Things have a way of evening out, don't they.

We're looking at 25 centimetres and more to come. For our American friends, that is over a foot of snow. It won't top for a while yet. Thank God for strong sons who like to shovel.

Here I am snug in my little house, gazing at this wonderland outside, feeling very relieved that there is nothing pressing on the agenda today. I know that in parts of the world this would be an impossible occurrence. In the desert, this would be a miracle. In the southern half of the world they are sunbathing and going swimming. My Australian friends have a BBQ at Christmas, while we are throwing more logs on the fire. What an amazing world we live in.

Our Creator loves diversity. We see this through weather patterns and people and creatures and geography. How many types of flowers are there? How many kinds of birds are there? How many shades of colours are there? How many kinds of... well, you get the idea.

How could we ever think that we all have to be one way or believe the same thing? Looking out the window suggests otherwise. Every snowflake falling is unique - and so are we. Today, I am going to enjoy looking out the window and reflecting on this visual lesson.

Enjoy your day, everybody! Celebrate who you are and embrace our diversity. We are all sparks of the One Light.
