Love in the face of adversity

"And as for you, brothers, never tire of doing what is right." 2 Thesselonians 3:13

It often seems as though others are not as appreciative of us, or as loving as we'd like them to be. This does not, however, excuse us from treating them as any less than what they are: people created in a divine image. We should strive to always treat everyone who comes along our path reverently, respectfully, kindly.

As difficult as it can be, try to love one another. "Do unto others as you would have them do unto you." The golden rule benefits not only others, but you! You'll feel worse if you're angry, grumpy and rude to others-your physical and psychological health will actually suffer. If you are kind and loving to others, however, you will reap the rewards. One candle loses nothing by lighting another. Light on!

The Kindness of Others

Yesterday, after my yoga class, a man picked up my blocks and strap to put them away for me as wel as several other people. I was so surprised and pleased by this unexpected kindness, it just made my day!

I suppose it's rather sad to be surprised when others offer to do kind things for me-but let's face it: it's just not that common.

So I urge you to reach out and make someone's day with an unexpected gesture of kindness. These small acts are what uplift and encourage us. They are vital to our busy hectic lives.

Reaching out

While it's true that everyone has problems, not everyone has a nonjudgmental outlet to relieve the pressures of stress. I am that outlet. I've spoken to many people who just need to hear themselves talk, and they work the issues out themselves! They find the solution as they talk it out.

I always encourage my clients to talk it out, to get whatever it is off their chests. No subject is off limits-I am here to help!

I would just like to encourage everyone reading to get out there and offer a few small acts of kindness to others. The kindness of strangers is what makes the world a better place. Whether it's holding open a door for someone, offering a smile or paying for someone's coffee, we can make others feel loved, appreciated and accepted, or not. The choice is yours.
