"International Phone Numbers" option doesn't work

The "International Phone Numbers" option doesn't work in Firefox 1.5.0.2 with default settings regarding popups/javascript. This is in the initial account creation wizard.

Thus I'm having a hard time getting through this wizard, as I need to enter a valid U.S. phone number. I'll try using the one for a friend's office and then change it afterwards.

The link works in IE, not in Firefox

Btw in Firefox it doesn't work in the "Account Info" page either. Trying now in Internet Explorer.

In IE 6.0 the link switches to the International Phone Numbers view, but I'm having trouble entering my phone number there. More on that as soon as I figure out what is going on.

Re: The link works in IE, not in Firefox

I see now that Israel is not supported for phone numbers. Please note that the error message is very opaque: "Please enter a valid phone number" is not very helpful in this case...

Perhaps it should say: "Your country is not (yet) supported" or something similar.

In my web applications I would also make use such a failed request to flag this country for consideration for support. Something like a database table with each row containing a country-code and a counter that is incremented when such a failure occurs (once per user?).

If you keep this table updated during the beta you can get a good idea of which unsupported countries are in most demand.

So to sum up this experience:
    1. BUG (Severe): "International Phone Numbers" link doesn't work in Firefox 1.5.0.2 in both the sign-up wizard and the account editing screen.
    2. BUG (Low): An unsupported country code yields the error message "Please enter a valid phone number" instead of something more explanatory.
    3. SUGGESTION: Keep track of requests to register with phone numbers from unsupported country-codes to note which countries are worth supporting in the future.

Let me know when Ether can support Israel!

    Thanks,
    Tal Rotbart
