Phone me the money
Once your Ether Phone Number is placed where you want people to see it, your phone only rings when someone is ready to pay for what you say.

How Ether will contact you
Ether lets you know you have a customer by calling you at the phone number you've specified. You will see 1-888-693-8437 if you have caller ID. (If you can't answer the phone, the message can go to voice mail.)

For example, Ether will tell you that you have a customer who's ready to pay your rate of $90 for an hour and is willing to wait 3 hours for a call back from you. When you answer the phone, you'll hear:
  • Press 1 to take the call now
  • Press 2 if you can call the person back within 3 hours
  • Press 3 if you cannot call the person back within 3 hours
By pressing 1, you'll be connected to the customer and earn $90 for the hour you talk. By pressing 2, you're accepting the customer's Callback request and when you're ready to take their call and earn your $90, you can either visit or call 1-888-MY-ETHER. By pressing 3, you'll be letting the customer know that you can't take their call.
Calling customers back
If you have a customer who's requested a call back, dial 1-888-MY-ETHER, press 9 and follow the prompts. Or, you can go to the Call Requests page on the website and click Take Calls.

Once finished with your call
Once you're done, you will hear how long the call lasted and how much you made. If you know you have other people to call back, you can then follow the prompts to talk to the next person waiting for your call.

Unused minutes
Unused minutes are minutes that a customer has paid for, but aren't used on a call. For example, if you charge $60 for an hour, and the call ends after 15 minutes, there would be 45 unused minutes. We ensure that customers are able to get the value that you've sold them in case a call gets interrupted or accidentally disconnected.

You are paid as minutes are used and when the unused minutes expire. The expiration for unused minutes is 48 hours so they're not out there indefinitely. This is quite helpful if your call was interrupted for personal reasons, but you'd still like customers to be able to reach you. Most specifically, it benefits you if your call inadvertently gets dropped due to cell phone issues.

For the time you did talk with your customer, you will see the pro-rated amount in your Activity History for that call. Once the unused minutes expire, you will see the remainder of your rate for that call applied to your account.
